Russell Wilson Gives Seattle April 15 Deadline for Contract912d7ed2d198fa133341d519146915db

Former NC State quarterback Russell Wilson has given the Seahawks an April 15th deadline for a contract extension to be done by, which is the day that Seattle’s offseason program kicks off.

This doesn’t mean in anyway that he will sit out camp, or refuse to play next season if a deal isn’t done by the desired date. It simply means that Wilson is making it clear that he won’t be negotiating a contract after that date. Wilson isn’t going to talk money while he’s on the clock.

Wilson threw 35 touchdowns, and boasted a QB Rating of 110.9 in 2018, which were both career highs, and ranked 3rd in the league.

Back in July of 2015, Wilson signed a 4-year contract worth $87.6 million, making him the 2nd highest paid quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers.

If a contract isn’t settled on by the end of the season, Seattle could sign him to a Franchsise Tag for $30.34 million in 2020, and $36.41 in 2021.
