White Wine by Ramey from Sonoma County, California. David Ramey spent his career creating benchmark wines for Matanzas Creek, Chalk Hill, Dominus and Rudd. Armed with an undeniably impressive resume and a desire to strike out on their own, David and his wife Carla founded Ramey Wine Cellars in 1996. They have been producing critically acclaimed, award-winning wines ever since, focusing on multiple expressions each of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. This 2015 vintage Chardonnay is from Steve and Joe Dutton’s Sebastopol Road Vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley. From 36-year-old Robert Young-selection vines planted on Goldridge Loam, this unique Chardonnay offers a perfect balance of Old World techniques and New World fruit. It exemplifies the round, rich, yet crisp Ramey style as expressed through this exceptional vineyard. Fermented with native yeast and bacteria, aged fourteen months on lees in two-year-old Taransaud Burgundy barrels, this wine will be lightly fined and bottled without filtration.
