Music Supervisor and industry expert Leah Streetman (Universal Music Group’s Republic & Motown Records, MGM’s EPIX Network) will lead a workshop on Music Synchronization for Film, TV and Advertising on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Trident Technical College’s North Charleston campus. The seminar is geared toward emerging supervisors, filmmakers, agencies, content creators, editors, and especially South Carolina musicians of all stripes, who want to know how they and their work can get involved in the production industry.

Leah will explore the question “What is Music Synchronization, Music Supervision, and Licensing?” The interactive seminar will begin with an overview of music synchronization, then examine supervising and licensing for film, TV, and commercials, with a focus on the business side and the creative perspective. She’ll also dive into music selection and placement, with a discussion on pitching and the creative process of selection.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is required. Click here to register.

About Leah Streetman

Leah Streetman is a creative sync music & licensing expert for Film, TV, and Advertising, currently consulting for MGM’s premium channel, EPIX Network. She has overseen creative music placement for Universal Music Group’s Republic and Motown Records, working with artists like: Florence + The Machine, Lorde, Pearl Jam, The Weekend, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Ariana Grande, Avett Brothers, The Band Perry, James Bay, Of Monsters & Men, The Rolling Stones, Prince, and Amy Winehouse.

She has secured creative music placements with partners like: HBO, Showtime, NBC, ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, MTV, Warner Bros, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, EA Sports, Ubisoft, ESPN, MLB, Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, Victoria’s Secret, Nike, Microsoft, Apple, and Sundance Film Festival. She started her career as a live music producer at New York’s renowned performing arts center, Symphony Space. Though currently residing in New York City, she grew up on the coast in Pawley’s Island, SC.
